Welcome to the AFP South Carolina Piedmont Chapter website! We are committed to supporting development professionals throughout the Upstate region of South Carolina. Our chapter has over 100 active members, who serve as development directors, fundraising consultants, grant writers, volunteer fundraisers, foundation executives, and other individuals dedicated to fundraising and philanthropy. 

If you are a development professional, a volunteer involved in the philanthropic process, interested in fundraising as a career, or just want to know more about AFP, we welcome you!

We hold regular educational meetings at the Thornblade Club in Greer, SC.

Mar 21 - Senior Director of Development for the College of Engineering & Computing
The Senior Director is responsible for an effective, comprehensive development program and supervision of the staff. Reporting to the University’s Senior Associate Vice President of Development (SAVP) and strategizing with the dean of the college, the Senior Director will build on the current program, adding innovative ideas to strengthen the annual giving and major and principal gift efforts for the college. Partnering with the USC Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Senior Director will continue strong relationships with corporations and develop new ones. The Senior Director is a member of the SAVP’s leadership team and collaborates with development colleagues across the campus around prospects and projects for the larger University. Mar 17 - Senior Director of Fundraising Analytics
Under limited supervision, reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services and part of the Advancement Services Management Team (ASMT), the primary focus of the Senior Director of Fundraising Analytics, is to lead the design, development and implementation of fundraising based solutions and services that support fundraising analytics, benchmarking, and surveys for University Development division. Provides proactive and data-driven insights using Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that supports University Development leadership team decisions. This position manages a team of professionals: business/data analysts and BI developers providing standard and customized BI solutions. Will be required to challenge the status quo and spark program innovative thoughts to convert complex data findings into data visualizations. Works closely with the Development leadership team to define fundraisers' data analytics needs. Introduces industry best practices, comprehends industry systems capabilities, and the alignment with the strategic vision and the priorities of the Division within the University system.
